Detalii si poze in ceea ce urmeaza:

This one-of-a-kind 2009 Dodge Challenger prototype from Petty’s Garage marries the timeless beauty of the 60’s and 70’s race cars from Petty Enterprises and the craftsmanship of today’s master fabricators and is being sold to benefit the Petty Family foundation. This is serial number 0001 and is the very first street car to come from Petty’s Garage which is located in the famed Level Cross, NC facility. This challenger is titled in Richard Petty’s name and powered by a late model 426cid HEMI from Arrington Engines with 585hp, 560ft/lb of torque and breathing through a 90mm Arrington throttle body and cold air intake. Painted in the trademark Petty Blue by BASF R-M, which is not to be mistaken for B5 Blue or Grabber Blue. This is 1 of only a handful of street cars to ever be painted Petty Blue. The car has been completely disassembled, placed on a rotisserie and repainted, including all suspension components, which are painted “Petty Parts Blue.” Automotive enthusiasts will notice the hand fabricated fascia, rocker panels, rear bumper cover and the blade type rear spoiler, all of which were “The King’s” vision for “squaring up the car”. Performance enhancements include Pedders suspension bushings, swaybars and coilovers, Petty’s Garage custom strut tower brace, cross member, sub-frame connectors and adjustable swaybar linkage increase chassis rigidity. Gran Tourismo brakes provide the stopping power with calipers in the front matched with cross drilled 380x34mm disks and M4 calipers in the rear with cross drilled 380x28mm disks. “The King” also wanted a center exhaust which is hand fabricated with 2 3/4″ mandrel bent stainless steel tubing. Prototypes are only built once and this is a one-of-a-kind automobile. To truly appreciate the craftsmanship and detail put into this build, you have to catch a view from underneath the car. Proceeds from the sale of this vehicle will benefit the Petty Family Foundation and its primary charities, The Victory Junction Gang and Paralyzed Veterans of America.

There were plenty of charity cars up for auction at the last few days, but perhaps the one that benefited the most worthy cause was donated by GM. They brought out a 427 Limited Edition Corvette Z06 worth more than $80,000 to Scottsdale and promised to donate the entire proceeds of the sale to the American Red Cross to help those who were affected by the devastating earthquake in Haiti.

Fortunately, the bidders in attendance hadn’t exhausted all of their funds by the time the car crossed the block, and a generous buyer put down a $200,000 offer for the car. You can visit
www.redcross.org or text HAITI to 90999 to donate yourself, and although you won’t go home with a new Corvette, you’ll be helping out a very worthy cause.

When Street Rod builders Randy Grubb and Michael Leeds came across two M47 Patton Tank engines, they immediately bought them and began sketching ideas for cars to build around the massive engines. The 1792cid SOHC aluminum V-12 engine is air-cooled and fed by dual 2-barrel carburetors. Power output is estimated at 910hp and 1500lb-ft of torque. The massive powerplant is mated to an Allison 4-speed automatic transmission that was originally designed to handle the workload of a Greyhound bus. The first Blastolene Special was finished in 2002 and then quickly sold to Jay Leno. This is the second and only other tank powered car built by the artists at Blastolene. The hand-built aluminum body was formed in the spirit of the shark-nosed Watson Roadsters that were very successful at Indy in the ’50s and ’60s, but nearly twice the size. With a 160″ wheelbase and an overall length of 270″, it’s no wonder that this creation weighs in at 8,400lbs. This wonderful piece of automotive is very capable on the open road and is a thrill to drive. **TITLED AS A 1952 UUU WATSON ROADSTER**

  • Primul Shelby GT350 fabricat vreodata (mai exact in 1966) s-a vandut pentru 247.500$.  Mai clasic de atat nu se putea…

This car, #SFM6S002 is the very first ’66 production Shelby. It is the first of the 252 extremely desirable Shelby “carryover” cars built. #SFM6S001, the first serial numbered ’66 Shelby, was slated to be a ’65 Shelby. That car was modified as the prototype for production 1966 Shelby’s and today retains its prototype status. #SFM6S002 has just received an incredibly complete ground-up restoration in its original Wimbledon White color with Guardsman Blue LeMans stripes. The black interior with original rear seat delete package shelf is just as it was originally built and delivered by Shelby on October 19, 1965. Shortly after the second owner acquired the car, it was extensively raced in the Mid West including Road America, Black Hawk Farms, Grattan, Mid Ohio, Road Atlanta and Watkins Glen. After being acquired from its second owner, the restoration was performed by Cobra Automotive of Wallingford, Connecticut. It is powered by a correct and fully rebuilt 289 Hi-Po, 306hp V8 and proper T-10M Aluminum 4-speed transmission. No expense was spared in the restoration back to its original state with many NOS and original date-coded parts. It is equipped with a Holley 715 CFM carburetor, 3.89 Locker rear, original dash mounted tachometer, radio delete, wood grain steering wheel, Shelby Cragar 15″ wheels and Goodyear blue dot tires. These early production “carryover” cars combined the best of both the ’65 and ’66 Shelby’s. They retain the hardcore ’65 performance features with the distinctive ’66 Shelby visual features added to set them apart from regular production Mustangs. This Shelby is listed in the Shelby American World Registry and comes with its original Shelby owner’s manual, Hi-Po supplement, SAAC club documentation and more. Its number one production status and its racing pedigree make this a historically significant Shelby.
